Compress a Video
Tell the editor how big the file may be, and it makes the video fit. Because nothing is uploaded, you don't wait for a big file to go anywhere: it's compressed right on your device.

How to Compress a Video
- Open your video in the video editor.
- In the Compress tool on the left, press WhatsApp (16 MB), Discord (20 MB) or Email (18 MB), or type your own size in Make it under … MB.
- The editor works out the quality, and makes the picture smaller if it has to, so the file lands under that size.
- Press Save MP4 at the top right.
Questions
Will the video look worse?
The smaller the target, the more detail has to go. A short clip squeezed into a few MB still looks fine on a phone; a long video into the same size gets a smaller picture. Trimming the parts you don't need first is the best way to keep quality.
Is there a quicker way to just get a smaller file?
Yes. In the same Compress tool, set Save as to Smaller file. It makes a lighter file without aiming for an exact size.
Can I compress and edit in one go?
Yes. Cut, add subtitles, music or a logo, then save once: everything goes into the same compressed MP4.
