How to Make a Podcast Cover

  1. Open your photo in the photo editor. JPG, PNG and WebP work. The Cover tool on the left turns it into a cover.
  2. Under Where it goes, press Podcast cover (3000 × 3000).
  3. Press a Design, type your show's name under Headline and a short line under Small text, such as the host or the topic.
  4. Press one of the Colours sets, or pick your own under More options. Drag the photo on the cover to move it, and use Photo zoom to get closer.
  5. Press the save button at the top right (it says Save JPG, Save PNG or Save WebP, after the file type). The cover goes to your downloads named cover-podcast-cover, at exactly 3000×3000.

Questions

What size do Apple Podcasts and Spotify want?

A square picture. Apple Podcasts takes 1400×1400 to 3000×3000 pixels as JPG or PNG; 3000×3000 is the largest and looks sharp everywhere, Spotify included. If the save button says Save WebP, choose JPG or PNG under More options, Save as.

Will my show's name be readable in the apps?

Podcast apps often show covers very small, so keep the headline to a few words. The designs put it large and on a solid colour, and the design tiles in the Cover tool show how it reads when small.

Can I change the fonts?

Yes. Each design picks its fonts, and More options lets you choose the headline and small-text fonts, their size and capitals yourself, from four free fonts.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The cover is made and saved in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
