Photo Filters

Give a photo a new look with one of thirteen filters, then fine-tune the light and colour. Each filter shows your own photo before you pick it, and the photo stays on your device.

Add a Filter to a Photo

How to Add a Filter to a Photo

  1. Open your photo in the photo editor. JPG, PNG and WebP work.
  2. In the Adjust tool on the left, press a filter: Original, Mono, Sepia, Warm, Cool, Vivid, Faded, Noir, Golden, Chrome, Film, Rose or Frost. Each tile is a small preview of your photo.
  3. Fine-tune with the Brightness, Contrast and Saturation sliders.
  4. To see the photo as it was, hold Compare with the original at the top. Reset colours takes the filter and the sliders back to the start.
  5. Press the save button at the top right (it says Save JPG, Save PNG or Save WebP, after the file type). The picture goes to your downloads.

Questions

What do the filters look like?

Mono and Noir are black and white (Noir with stronger contrast). Sepia is old-photo brown. Warm, Golden and Rose add warmth or a pink tint; Cool and Frost make it colder. Vivid and Chrome add punch, while Faded and Film soften it with lighter shadows.

Does the filter change the text I added?

No. Text keeps the colour you chose; the filter only changes the photo underneath.

Can I use a filter on a collage?

Yes. When a collage is open, the filter and the sliders work on the whole collage at once.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The filter is applied and the picture is saved in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
