Add Text to a Photo

Put a caption, a title or a date on a picture, in the font and colour you want. The photo editor works in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device.

Add Text

How to Add Text to a Photo

  1. Open your photo in the photo editor. JPG, PNG and WebP work.
  2. In the Text tool on the left, type your text in the box.
  3. Choose the Font, Size and Colour. Tick Bold or Shadow if you like (Anton and Archivo Black are already bold).
  4. Pick a Position (Top, Middle or Bottom), or drag the text on the photo.
  5. Press the save button at the top right (it says Save JPG, Save PNG or Save WebP, after the file type). The picture goes to your downloads.

Questions

Can I change the text after saving?

No. Once saved, the text is part of the picture. Keep your original photo, and you can always start again from it.

How do I keep the text readable on a busy photo?

Pick a colour that stands out from what's behind it, such as white on a dark area, and make the text a bit bigger than feels needed: pictures are often seen small on phones.

Can I add text to a video too?

Yes. The video editor puts titles and words on a video, each shown for as long as you choose. See add text to a video.
