Make a Cover

How to Make a Social Media Cover

  1. Open your photo in the photo editor. JPG, PNG and WebP work. The Cover tool on the left turns it into a cover.
  2. Under Where it goes, press Facebook cover (1640 × 624) or X header (1500 × 500).
  3. Press a Design, then type your words under Headline and Small text.
  4. Press one of the Colours sets, or pick your own under More options. Drag the photo on the cover to move it, and use Photo zoom to get closer.
  5. Press the save button at the top right (it says Save JPG, Save PNG or Save WebP, after the file type). The cover goes to your downloads named cover-facebook-cover or cover-x-header.

Questions

Why does my Facebook cover look cut off on a phone?

Facebook shows the cover narrower on phones and cuts the sides. The dashed line on the cover marks the middle part that every screen shows, and the designs keep your words inside it.

Where does my profile picture go on an X header?

X puts your profile picture over the lower left of the header. That's why the safe area, the dashed line, starts further right on an X header; keep your words inside it.

Does the dashed line end up in the saved file?

No. It is only a guide while you work, and More options, Show the safe area hides it.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The cover is made and saved in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
